These seeds produce a semi-aquatic variety of spinach, requiring soil that is constantly damp- even swampy. The leaves are long and pointed, with a distinct spinach flavour. Spinach is a highly nutritious and popular salad green, and luckily it’s rather easy to grow, which makes it a good choice for beginner and experienced gardeners alike.
Plant well after the last seasonal frost in late spring/early summer. Sow 1/8″ deep, 12″ apart or more as this plant grows rather vicariously. Pot planting might be best. Full sun. Well drained soil. Deep and very regular watering – soil must remain moist, almost swampy.
