An easy, ready-to-go solution for anyone who wants tomatoes but doesn’t want the hassle! This large tomato plant is already in a container suitable for growth, with a trellis to support it as it fruits. They produce multitudes of small, red cherry tomatoes that are excellent for slicing or even eating whole, with dip, as they have a delicious sweet flavour. This will work in any full sun location, from a patio to a balcony.
Tomatoes are very easy to grow in general, but they can be a bit harder to grow well! Plant tomatoes in full sun, preferably in a spot where tomatoes haven’t been grown in a few years (planting in the same spot year after year can use up the nutrients in the soil). Water directly at the soil, deeply- tomato plants enjoy a good watering, and should be protected from drought. Use organic fertilizers that aren’t high in nitrogen, as high nitrogen can discourage fruit production. Soil with plenty of calcium will help prevent the tomatoes from cracking, as it boosts the strength of cell walls.
