Description

Eugenia is a popular topiary, with waxy, thick and glossy leaves that are easily sculpted into a variety of shapes. It’s elegant and tasteful, perfect to be planted in a container to accent the corners of a patio, backyard, or even your front porch! Or, plant it in the ground and give your flowerbed a classy flair. New leaves start out as a reddish colour, but quickly turn a bright emerald green as they mature.

Their care is rather easy. They perform best in full sun, but can tolerate partial shade. They enjoy well-draining soil. When planted in soil, care is minimal- but in containers, you will have to keep an eye on temperature. When it starts getting colder, move container eugenia inside. They prefer a more acidic soil, so a low pH fertilizer will do well for these plants. They also enjoy a rich soil, so adding compost or manure will serve you well. Regular pruning will be required to keep its shape.
