Japanese maples are some of the most popular trees around, found in gardens everywhere. They are adored for their small, dense foliage that is always a shade of deep red. They add a gorgeous burst of colour, and a new, fun texture to your garden no matter if they’re an accent or the centerpiece! This variety has foliage that emerges in a deep burgundy colour in the spring, and turns a bright crimson in the fall.

Japanese maples are known to be some of the more finicky trees that you can get. They do best in full sun to partial shade. Water them regularly, and ensure they are never allowed to dry out. It will grow best in rich soils. They will benefit from being planted in a sheltered location, where winds and rain can’t damage the tree. Apply a thick layer of mulch to the base before the winter, to keep roots more. They can benefit from being wrapped in burlap, as well.
