Currants are a delicious summer treat. With a tart, juicy taste, you can use them in everything from homemade jams and jellies, to pie filling, to just snacking right off the vine! And the bush itself is gorgeous, with maple leaf-like foliage. White currants are in the middle in terms of sweetness- not quite as sweet as black currants and not as tart as red.

Care for currants is rather easy. Plant in a spot where they get morning sun and afternoon shade. They thrive in rich, slightly heavy soils. They will do best in a sheltered location where they are protected from winds.
