Shasta daisies are a favourite amongst perennial gardeners, for their happy, large flowers and unique arrowhead-like foliage. The blooms are much like the stereotypical idea of a flower, with bright yellow centres and petals that can vary in colour, but are often white. These daisies will look wonderful both in the garden, and in a vase if you decide to pick them!
Shasta daisies require a bit more specific care than other perennials, but it’s well worth it for the end result. Care must be taken to properly prepare soil prior to planting- they enjoy fertile soil to encourage big, numerous blooms, which can be achieved by adding compost or manure to your soil. Well-draining soil is also important, as they do not tolerate soggy soil or standing water. They can tolerate light conditions from full sun to light shade.
