Description
Pinks are a type of dianthus, and are a frost-hardy evergreen perennial. Pinks form gorgeous carpets of thin, needly foliage with abundant amounts of small, ribbed flowers. They produce a classic, cottage look in any garden they’re in, and make for wonderful border plants, rock gardens and pathway edges.
Care is very easy. While well-drained and fertile soil is best, it will tolerate poor soil as long as it isn’t soggy or heavy. They enjoy a lot of sun, but dislike hot afternoon sun- so a place with lots of light in the morning but some afternoon shade will make for their ideal planting location.
