Dodecatheon Meadia is a unique flowering perennial, with distinctive flowers in the shape of shooting stars, coming to a point on one end with petals flaring on the other, hence their name. Apart from their flowers, which really are the star of the show, they have large green leaves that are in an arrowhead shape. The foliage serves only to accent the gorgeous flowers.
They are simple to care for, as with a variety of other perennials. They grow best in evenly moist and well-draining soil. They enjoy part shade most, but will tolerate sun conditions from full sun to full shade, as long as soil remains even and fertile.
