Alpine asters, as the name suggests are a cold-weather perennial that blooms in the early and middle spring. They produce bright flowers reminiscent of daisies, that range from light blue to dark purple in colour, depending on the variety. It also has unique foliage, with fuzzy short leaves that seem to spring straight from the ground.
Care is simple. They prefer poor soil, being native to mountainous and rocky regions of the world. They do well in full sun to part shade. They enjoy medium moisture, well draining soils.
