Hoyas are becoming more and more popular in the houseplant world, and for good reason! They come in all sorts of shapes and sizes and even scents, and have beautiful (but very rare!) blooms of clusters of star-shaped flowers. This particular variety is shaped like a heart, hence the name “sweetheart” hoya. As it grows, the single heart shaped leave will slowly poke further and further out of the ground, until they have a stem, from which more heart-shaped leaves will grow.

Care for hoyas isn’t difficult. They should be watered whenever soil is dry (they don’t enjoy too much water), and enjoy bright, direct sunlight- but can also tolerate bright, indirect sunlight too. Truly, they’re the perfect gift for your special someone!
