Holy basil is a variety native to Southeast Asia, and is found often in stir fries and soups. Basil, sometimes known as the king of herbs, is an incredibly popular plant used in cuisines all over the world. Holy basil has a distinct flavour, different from other varieties. It has a peppery taste, that is sweet and warm, with hints of licorice, peppermint and cloves.
Basil is easy to grow, as many other herbs are.
