Mandevillas are a popular and gorgeous annual, with sprawling vines being adorned with abundances of trumpet-like and colourful flowers. Their beauty is simply unparalleled by any other annual flower, and they offer a tropical touch to any space- which is important when vacations aren’t possible! In a hanging basket, they will beautifully twist up the handle and hang down over the edges of the pot, creating one of the most striking hanging baskets around.

Their care can be a bit more specific, compared to other annuals, but it is far more than worth it for their natural beauty. They prefer sandy, well-draining soil, with lots of organic matter, such as peat moss, mixed in to create a fertile soil. They will grow very well in containers, and can then be brought in to be overwintered. They need some shade, preferring bright but indirect or filtered sunlight- too much sun can scorch them. They are vines, and will require some kind of wall or trellis to support them as they grow upwards.
